NU Crew is excited to announce its first-ever Row and Run 5k on Saturday, May 7, at noon, on Northwestern’s Lakefill.

This spring, we are fundraising to cover costs for our current racing season, with most races costing roughly $4,000 due to race-entry fees and housing accommodations. 

Participants will have the option to Run 5k, Row 5k, or complete a Run 3k/Row 2k challenge. Once you register for the event, we will email you asking which of the three options you intend to do. No experience on a rowing machine is necessary for either the 5k row or challenge! NU Crew athletes will be offering demonstrations on how to erg correctly.

For our NU Crew alumni and parents or any other members of the Northwestern community outside of Evanston, feel free to join us virtually! You can support the team and our event by purchasing a ticket and running or rowing your own virtual 5k. 

You also have the option to sponsor a rower/coxswain to complete the 5k! Parents and friends can purchase a ticket for their rower or coxswain via General Registration and list the whom they wish to sponsor under “Guests” on the waiver form. We will then send you a Google Form where you can dictate whether you want your rower/coxswain to run 5k, row 5k, or complete the 3k run/2k row combination.
